Locations API overview

The Locations API lets you get, list, create, edit and delete your locations. To use the Locations API, you’ll need access to the API module. If you want to filter your reviews by location, go to Get private reviews for a business.

Core concepts

Add locations to your business so customers can leave reviews for a specific location. This is useful if you want to gain further insights about your business, based on how locations perform. All reviews still show up under your main business profile but reviews with locations will also show up on location pages.

The locations API identifies locations using a unique ID of your choice. This is known as the external ID. Each time you create a new location you’ll need to assign that location an external ID. If you want to reference a location but you’re not sure what the external ID is, use the Get locations endpoint to list all your locations.

Unmapped reviews

All of your reviews show on your main business profile. Unmapped reviews only show there but location reviews also show on the relevant location’s page. When you delete a location, the reviews assigned to that location remain on your main business profile. You cannot delete reviews by deleting a location. If you want to access unmapped reviews, use Get private reviews for a business with the noLocation parameter set to true.
